Responsible Gambling (Responsible Play)
Gambling should be entertainment, not a way to make money. If you choose to gamble, set limits and only spend what you can afford to lose. Gambling is for people aged 18+ (or the legal age that applies to you).
Tools to help you stay in control
- Time limits: set a session length and take regular breaks.
- Spend/deposit limits: decide a maximum you can afford and do not chase losses.
- Cooling-off: take a short break from play if you feel stressed, tired, or emotional.
- Self-exclusion: request a longer block from your account if gambling is no longer in control.
To apply limits, request cooling-off, or self-exclude, contact our support team and we will help you as quickly as possible.
Warning signs
- Spending more time/money than intended.
- Chasing losses or borrowing to gamble.
- Hiding gambling or arguing about it.
- Neglecting work, study, whānau/friends, or bills.
- Feeling anxious, guilty, or unable to stop.
Practical tips
- Set a budget and leave bank cards aside while playing.
- Play for fun; treat wins as a bonus, not income.
- Avoid gambling when upset, using alcohol/drugs, or exhausted.
- Keep track of time and spending.
